The Monart Art School of Ottawa is celebrating its 19th Anniversary!

The last 2 and a half years have been tough. As restrictions and normalcy are beginning to return, we would like to thank everyone over the past 19 years for being a part of the Monart Family. Monart opened its classroom doors back in 2003 and since then has taught countless artists the techniques and traditions of drawing and painting. Here’s to many more to come! Portrait Painting From Life Workshop

Join Miriam Rosenthal at Monart on July 7-9, 2023 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Learn the art of portrait painting in oil using our step by step method. Beginner and advanced students will benefit from this workshop. Students will be working directly from life using artist oil paint or any medium that the student selects. ARA instructor Miriam Rosenthal will teach you the basics to capture the likeness. We also ask any of our students or any child that wants to make a “thank you” drawing to all the people out there giving their time and exposing their lives so the rest of us we can keep going; the doctors, nurses, bus drivers, the workers at the grocery store, drivers delivering food etc. We will try to send those drawings to all those places so they know we are all thankful for what they are doing.

Portfolio Creation Course

Our Portfolio Creation course is designed with beginners in mind, but is perfectly suitable for practicing artists looking to increase their skills. The course is broken up into three (3) sections: Drawing, Painting and Life Drawing. We feel that having a strong foundation in these 3 areas will give students the skills and the portfolio to take on any challenge.
